SunUp​​ is used for colour enhancement in Apple, Persimmon, Peach, Nectarine, Plum and Cherry crops.

SunUp​ Reflective Orchard Film reflects 85% or more of the suns UV rays up into the underside and central areas of the tree where the fruit is difficult to colour. Placing the film between the rows of trees can lead to an improvement in fruit colouring, size, brix and flavour. Especially giving a much higher percentage first pick.

Technical Details: 
  • Red colour development in tree fruit, whether nectarine, apple, cherry, pomegranate, etc., is triggered by a chemical reaction which changes the red pigment precursor cyanidin to ideain, the predominant red pigment in anthocyanin.
  • The initial colour change of the fruit when using SunUp reflective orchard film is in the enhanced red colour, in the first few days after the film is placed in the orchard.
  • The optimum red colour enhancement occurs when the film is spread in the orchard three to four weeks before harvest.
