Insense Queensland Fruit Fly traps........ so simple!
Queensland Fruit Flies can cause damage to fruit in a variety of species. The InSense QFF trap is suitable for use in Apples, Apricots, Blueberries, Cherries, Grapes, Grapefruit, Guava, Lemons, Limes, Mandarin, Mangoes, Oranges, Passionfruit, Pawpaw, Peaches, Pears, Plums, Nectarines, Tomato, Capsicum and other vegetable and fruit crops.
How does the trap work? InSense traps are specially designed open-ended traps. The pests are attracted into the trap by the pheromone scent from the specific QFF InSense lure. Once inside the trap, the flies land on the sticky walls where they are caught. The QFF combination trap is unique. The QFF has the female sex pheromone in the provided lure and the colour of the trap is attractive to both the female and male QFF. How long does the trap last? Once Assembled, the trap is attached to a branch in the plant canopy. The lures will last for 4 - 6 weeks. Replace the trap and lure each 4-6 weeks or when the trap losses its ‘stickiness’ When do I put the trap up? At the start of summer when the fruit and vegetables are growing and pests are active. How many traps do I need?– 1 trap per small tree, 2 for medium trees, 4 for very large trees. In the home garden, where trees maybe 5m or more apart, place the traps at 1 trap per tree. For tomato, capsicum etc, place traps within or as close by as possible at 1 trap per 10m of plant row. |
